No matter the situation you find yourself in, God can deliver you.  

“Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.”  Acts 12:7-9

When we are on the right path and doing the right thing, we might still run into trouble.  Peter had been preaching God’s word to the Gentiles, and they received Jesus as their savior, and the Holy Spirit fell upon them.  The Jews realised that God does not show favoritism and desires all to be saved.   This stirred up King Herod to kill James, the first martyred disciple, and persecute Peter by throwing him in prison.  But the church prayed…

God heard their prayers, acted, and set Peter free.  He can do the same for you.  Ask and you shall receive (Mathew 7:7)
