Can I praise God without being amazed?

Someone declared, “You can’t praise if you haven’t been amazed.
We serve an amazing God!!!”

I started asking the question, can I praise God without being amazed?

Amazement is a feeling or showing great surprise or wonder.

Praise in Hebrew is Yada. Someone said that if you don’t have Yada, you have Nada.

Praise, according to Strongs, means to hold out a hand, acknowledge God, and revere Him.

The Lord reminded me that praising God is a decision. Being amazed is an emotion.

” I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. “
Psalms 9:1 NKJV

When we decide to praise God, God brings to remembrance all of His works. God gives us the heart to perceive, eyes to see, and ears to hear (Deut 29:2-4).

As we praise the Lord, the heart hears, believes, and amazement comes.

What do you think?
