“And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him…” Luke 23:33
A slow death with maximum pain and suffering was put upon the shoulders of the servant, Jesus. He was born for this very cause. He did nothing to deserve it. He was sinless.
He bore our pain, suffering and took our sin, to make a way for the Father to come into a relationship with us.
Isaiah prophesied six hundred years before Jesus’ Crucifixion,
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.” Isaiah 53:4
On this day at Calvary, rejection was in the air., His brothers and sisters (The Jews) rejected Him, and His Father turned from the sin that He could not bear. The Gospel message was written that day: Jesus was crucified, gave up His spirit, died, and was resurrected. We have a victorious living God.
We all have a choice: we can accept or reject what Jesus has provided for us through the Cross. Open your heart today and make a way for Jesus to come in and give you a new life in Him.
“if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9
