My friend’s washing machine broke recently, and she pulled out the old washtub and wringer. Her first load of laundry took hours to do, the time she did not have. What was the Lord doing, I wondered. Was He putting her through the wringer? Everything God does has a purpose. We may not understand it at the time. However, it is for our good and His glory.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
