Many talk about being led by the Holy Spirit, but what does this really mean?

To be led means that we take direction from someone other than ourselves. Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan (Luke 4:1).

In order to be led, you have to lay down your life as Jesus did. “For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” Galatians 5:17-18
