“put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4:22-32

Paul is telling us that we should not go back to the way we used to live. Fulfilling the lusts of the flesh, the things we craved. When you starve, the cravings, they will disappear. You have a choice every day, and there will be a battle within you until all has been submitted to God. Do not give the enemy a place to reside. If he can find an open door, he will slip in. Confess sins as the Holy Spirit brings them to mind and turn from them. Be renewed in Christ, the new man.
