We each have a battle to fight. Before I went into ministry, I had the greatest battle of my life.
“For by wise counsel you will wage your own war…” proverbs 24:6
The enemy (the devil) tempted and attacked me day and night. It was not only a spiritual battle. It was a battle of my soul (will, mind and emotions). The deep hurts in my life allowed room for the enemy. We sometimes can be our own worst enemies. Unconfessed sin or even the lack of knowledge of sin can allow the enemy to access our lives and torment us.
Proverbs 24:6 says, “and a multitude of counselors there is safety.”
God is your counsellor, ”I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.“
Psalms 32:8 NIV
However, God does appoint others to walk beside you, provide counsel, and pray. Listen and take everything back to God for the final answer. He knows the plan for you (Proverbs 29:11).
”Plans are established by seeking advice; so if you wage war, obtain guidance.“
Proverbs 20:18 NIV
