“But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith.” 1 Timothy 6:11-12
Paul was telling Timothy that there will be much coming against you; you will need to fight to keep your faith. We see the same is true today.
In the latter times, Christians will be persecuted. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” Mathew 24:9-13
How do we endure?
- Guard your heart, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Proverbs 4:23 “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:7
- Keep your focus on Jesus Christ, don’t waver, “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
- Fear not, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
Warning:
“If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us;” 2 Tim 2:12
