A tailwind is a wind blowing from behind. It gives us an extra push to move forward in the direction we are going, and the opposite, a headwind, puts up resistance. As an avid runner and road biker, I always watched the winds.
A tailwind pushed me far beyond what I could accomplish in my own strength, and a strong headwind would put up resistance against me and require me to ask for help from the Lord.
God is our tailwind.
“If you fear the Lord and serve Him and obey His voice, and do not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then both you and the king who reigns over you will continue following the Lord your God.” 1 Samuel 12:14
There are conditions to continue following the Lord. If you do not abide in the conditions, you will get resistance, the headwind.
“However, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then the hand of the Lord will be against you, as it was against your fathers.” 1 Samuel 12:15
