I have heard it said, that the Love of God dictates our actions, and if we believe in something we demonstrate that belief with actions. However, we need to listen to the Holy Spirit for guidance, after all, God’s ways go beyond our ways (Isaiah 55:8). 

A missionary’s testimony left a lasting impact on me.  The man was sitting on his porch, meditating on all of the things he had done for the Lord. He then heard a small voice that said, yes you have done many things. However, I asked you to do only one thing, and that thing I asked you to do, you did not do. 

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
