Are you trying to solve your own problems?

Are you trying to solve your own problems?

How is that working out for you? Usually it does not work out well at all.

Feelings of hopelessness, depression, rejection do not go away with self-help (disassociating (ignoring the issue), isolating, keeping yourself busy or cutting).

Hopelessness
“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.” Psalm 42:5 NKJV.

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

Depression
“Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.” Proverbs 12:25.
“casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Loneliness
“God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.”  PSALM 68:6 NKJV. God sets the lonely in a family

Rejection
Jesus was rejected so we could be accepted, “He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.” Isaiah 53:3
“All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.” John 6:37. You are accepted by Jesus.

What we proclaim is critical. Praise brings hope; a good word makes you glad; there is power in your words. Proclaim what God’s word proclaims.
