Are you prepared?

We prepare for many things in life? We prepare for the eventual wearing out of our car, heating systems, our bodies (health care). Are we prepare for death? I don’t mean life insurance, that is for the living. Many fear death.

We could surmise that there is no fear in death, after all we are all once dead until Christ made us alive.

“For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” Col 3:3-4

However, there are those that are still dead. They have not been made alive in Christ and fear is overcoming them.

If we died with him, we will also live with him;
 if we endure, we will also reign with him.
If we disown him, he will also disown us;
 if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself. 2 Timothy 2:1-13

We see in this faithful saying, there is a warning, “If we disown him, he will also disown us.” This is cause to fear, the promise of eternal salvation is at stake. Prepare your hearts and minds for what is to come.

Prepared your heart by having an upward focus. God will do the rest, “Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear,” Psalm 10:17

Think on good things, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2
