As I was packing for a trip, I thought about how easy it is to throw a couple of items into a bag and be ready to go. But am I ready when Jesus comes back, and what do I need in my spiritual suitcase?   

The parable of ten virgins comes to mind, “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.  Five of them were foolish and five were wise.  The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.” Mathew 25:1-4

Notice that all ten had their lamps, yet only five were prepared; they had their oil (Holy Spirit) for the light to shine. Every day, we need our spiritual suitcase packed and ready to go because no one knows when Jesus will come back.

“…But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father”. Mathew 24:35-36
