Are You in Prison?
We can feel imprisoned by our feelings. When our circumstances seem to be in control and there is no way out we can feel trapped. What is the answer; prayer.
In order to pray and believe that your prayers are answered it is helpful to have a relationship to the one you are talking. If I stopped on the street and walked up to someone’s door, asked them for one hundred dollars, what do you think they would say? They would probably ask me my name.
When we have a personal relationship with the living God, He has given us many promises and that includes supplying what we need. Having a relationship doesn’t mean just going to church every Sunday, it means talking to Jesus every minute of the day. We can do this by having a song of praise in our head, or bringing someone to mind before God, or thanking Him for the wonderful things He is doing for us at this very minute. It is the same as when you are in love and you can’t get that special someone out of your mind.
When we bring our circumstances to Jesus we can put them in His control and let Him change us in those circumstances.
“…He has sent me…to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
Isaiah 61:1 NKJV
