The miles piled up. My running became the single focus of my life. It was all centered around a plan, a plan to run a marathon. It started off with a simple goal and became an unrelenting compulsion. The more miles I ran, the more miles I needed to run. I was killing everything in my life. My desires carried me away.
“But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.” James 1:14-15 NKJV
It wasn’t until I became injured did I see how far off course my running had taken me.
God always provides a better plan to get us back on track.
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. James 1:12 NKJV
