“You are fettered (Chain used to restrain a prisoner)” said scrooge, trembling. “Tell me why?”
“I wear the chain I forged in life.” Replied the Ghost. I made it link by link and yard by yard. I girded (Secured/put it on) it on of my own free will, and of my own free will I wore it….” This is an excerpt from the “The Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens
Many are wearing chains (enslaved in essence of their own free will) that they have forged themselves. The chains are in most cases as a result of a loss or trauma that may have occurred in your life. And you may not be Living that life that God ordained for you.
As a result, you may be controlled by thought patterns, habits, behaviors, you may not know who you are in Christ OR BE ABLE TO HAVE THE REVELATION OF WHO CHRIST IS….
I prayed for a woman in a nursing home who had severe trauma as a result of her father being murdered when she was 9. Even though her father had been a pastor, she could not see that Jesus was God’s son until the trauma barrier was broken.
What we believe is critical. God says we are Holy, blameless, Righteous in Christ (justified), beautiful. You see God calls…. into being…. what isn’t (what we are to become).
We are a new creation in Christ, “therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a
new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have
become new.” 2 Cor 5:17
Listen to what God’s desire is for you, “Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.” Hosea 10:12
