Are you a disciple or church member?

Jesus did not tell us to make church members. He told us to go and make disciples (Mathew 28:19). A disciple is a learner, a pupil. To make disciples, we first need to be a disciple of Jesus. The litmus test is “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.” Luke 14:26-27.

The first condition is to come to Jesus, forsake your family and your self, lay down your life to Jesus and follow all that He commands you to do, this doesn’t mean we abandon our family, but we put Jesus first in our life. We follow in our Saviors footsteps. Each of us will carry a different cross (burdens, afflictions and sufferings) and based upon what we go through; we will be able to teach others the love, mercies, faithfulness of our Savior.

Evan Roberts, a great revivalist, said, “bend the church and save the world.”

God is holding the church, the body of Christ responsible, accountable for bringing His message to all the world.
