Anxieties of the Heart
Anxiety causes our focus to be diverted from God and fear to set in. How can we deal with the troubles of this world and remain focused on God?
- Pray, lift all troubles, concerns, worries, or anxieties to God. “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
- Rely upon the Spirit to lead and guide you through the current situation. “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” John 16:13.
- Trust the Lord no matter the circumstances, the problem may appear worse before it gets better. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
- Do not complain. “And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.” Numbers 11:1
- Have faith, God always answers prayer. “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7
- Give Him thanks and praise, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” Psalm 100:4-5.
Thanking and praising keeps the anxieties away, try it today.
