Anniversaries

Anniversaries are generally a day that you recall something special that happened and it calls for a celebration. But, what if that anniversary is one that commemorates a tragedy, such as the loss of a loved one?

I recently had an anniversary with mixed emotions; my fifth wedding anniversary, but my dear spouse passed away four and a half years ago. It is a time of reflection as I think about how he would be laughing at this city girl, stacking fire wood and trying to get grass to grow. But then I miss his joyful presence. I thank the Lord for the special gift that He gave me when He gave me my spouse.
