I went into town today to pick up a ring that I had dropped off to be repaired. What was given back to me was this shiny-looking new ring. The jeweller had cleaned it all up in addition to fixing the break. It didn’t look like my ring.
It is amazing how we can wear something so dirty and not realize it. The dirt covered up the beauty of it. That is what sin does to us. It makes us unclean, and before long, we have no realization of how dirty we are. The beauty that God has created is masked. God wants us all cleaned up so we can sparkle for Him.
“…beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” 2 Cor 7:1
