Yesterday was the first day I was able to walk my dogs after the blizzard conditions that we experienced in the mountains of West Va. The snow finally started to melt, and along with the conditions came the mud. When I returned from the walk, I realized I needed to wash each dog. When we go through a storm in life, we also may need to be washed.
“…Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.”
John 13:12 NIV
We so often miss what Jesus has done for us. We need to allow Jesus to wash us. The Word does the washing.
“that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,” Ehp 5:26. In turn, we need to humble ourselves and do the same as our Lord has done.
As I was washing my dogs, it occurred to me that the water temperature determined the dog’s willingness be washed. The water should not be too hot (on fire) or cold (non-feeling); our words need to be just right. Humble yourselves and allow God to speak through you. It is not us that does the work, but our savior. Thank you, Jesus!
