As the captain of a neighborhood ball game, I had to select kids to be on my team. We alternated on selection.  I struggled when I picked my team. Do I choose the kid that nobody wants or do I want to win?   My definition of “win” was very narrow back then. I know today that some may still suffer from rejection associated with these games.

God’s solution is to reflect Christ. First forgive,”Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34; second get rid of any ill feelings associated with the event.

Now for reshaping… accept who you are. You are a child of God, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14

Last, know that Jesus took your rejection already, John 1:16 “And of His fullness we have all received and grace for grace.”
