A mixed message

As we approach Christmas and the New Year, we should all feel hope and joy. Yet many are feeling anxious and unsettled by hearing of wars and rumours of wars. This week, The Nato chief told Europe it is time to shift to a wartime mindset.

I would say that what Jesus prophesied is being fulfilled before our eyes, “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars” Mathew 24:6.

So what are we to do as Christians? How should we prepare?

If you look closely at Jesus’ words in Mathew 24, He warns us not to be deceived or troubled. And He warns us that there will be famines, pandemics, natural disasters, lawlessness, hate…

“But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” Mathew 24:13

We must endure. The only way to learn endurance is to go through things that will help you endure.

“You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”

And then Jesus tells us our mission: “ And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Mathew 24:14. We are to take His word to the world.
