Michelle Kohler was born in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was the first child of a Retired Navy Captain and housewife. Michelle was raised all over the world, moving every four years. Growing up she developed a strong desire to serve her country. She served six (6) years in the Marine Corps Reserve and during this time she went on to earn her B.S. in Computer Science. After graduating she married her college sweet heart, Frank and continued her education pursuing a M.S. in Systems Engineering. After six years of marriage, Frank and Michelle had two beautiful daughters and an international student (son) from South Korea. Which kept both of them busy raising a family and managing their careers.
Michelle’s background in the military and her degree afforded her the opportunity to have a career in the aerospace industry. She has gained over thirty-one (31) years of Management, Systems Design and Engineering experience. She has owned and operated her own company; and most recently was the Project Lead for the Navy UCAS program and the Director of Avionics for one-third of the Navy’s aircraft.
In 1998, Michelle and Frank’s house burned to the ground. This was devastating for the entire family. However, this tragedy turned out to be a blessing for Michelle. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior.
In June of 2012, Michelle’s father died, followed by thirteen other deaths in the family; including her husband Frank. Frank was tragically killed in the Navy Yard Shooting (September 2013). The losses she faced were devastating and caused her to turn her life completely over to God. She is currently the Director and Administrator for the Ministry. She is excited to see what God has in store for His people and has a strong desire for people to know “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” Psalm 147:3 NIV. Our Lord is a Son, leader, pastor, father, husband, brother, our personal Savior and He has wept! He understands the loss that we are going through. How comforting to know Jesus Christ understands! Blessings and may the Lord fill you with the desires of your heart.
