The holidays can make your heart heavy when you have had a loss. The memories of the past may come flooding in from every direction.
If this will be your first Christmas without your loved one, the joy and merriment of all may weigh on you. God will take you through this time of mourning.
“Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca (Valley of Weeping), They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion.” Psalm 84:5-7
Grieving is a journey that you can take with or without God. When you walk through your grief with God, He lifts you up in a mighty way and fills you with living water (Himself, God is the fountain of living water (Jer 2:13), and He is your joy. Continue to press into Him, read His word, cry out to him for healing. “He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
“may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13). I pray this in Jesus name.
