Many today are struggling with their marriage. Half of all marriages will end in divorce. So what can you do to prevent becoming a statistic?
My father used to say, if you see a person having problems with their relationship, remember it takes two to make a marriage. However, I go one step further and say it takes three, “Though another may overpower one, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Eccl 4:12. A marriage union needs to have Christ at the center.
To the husbands:
God says, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.” Eph 5:25-28
To the wives:
“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.” Eph 5:21-23
