Blessings or curses

Do you feel like you cannot succeed no matter what you do? Are there unexplained sicknesses in the family, premature death; suicide; mental illness; depression; emotional, physical or mental issues that go from one generation to the next? If so, then you may have a curse on you or your family.

“But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:” Deuteronomy 28:15

The primary reason for curses is not listening to God and following what he commands you to do. God does not hold you responsible for someone else’s sins. However, you may suffer the consequences.

Many say that this is the old testament, and it does not apply. Then I would say, do blessings not apply as well?

The Bible says in Exodus 34:6-7, “And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”

Christ was the curse on the cross (Gal 3:13), and He came to redeem you, “knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” 1 Peter 1:18

Declare today that you choose to walk in blessings and not in curses.

Lord, I believe you died on the cross for me and took all sin, and you were the curse on the cross and have taken all curses so I might walk in blessings. I confess the sins of my ancestors and any sins I have committed. Please forgive my ancestors and me. In the name of Jesus, I release myself from every evil inheritance from my ancestors. And choose to walk in your righteousness. I pray this in Jesus name. Thank you, Jesus.
