“It is my party, and I will cry if I want to…” are lyrics from a popular song released in 1963 that made it to number one on the charts. The song is about a girl whose boyfriend disappeared during her party and later returned with another girl on his arm. Many have experienced the sorrow of adultery, rejection, and abandonment. God understands, “All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53:6
There is great loss when our hearts are broken and we can be driven into the self-pity, depression and hopelessness. Don’t go down the path of a pity party. God is standing by to heal your heart. Take a hold of His arm. If you have accepted Christ as your savior, then you are betrothed to Him. He sent His son to die on the cross for you to take all rejection, abandonment and shame.
