Do you want God’s forgiveness? If so, you need to forgive others. I have heard so many say, “I can never forgive them for what they did, if you only knew.” God knows.

“But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Mathew 6:15

Hurt that is left to fester, will turn into a sore that won’t go away. As a matter of fact, it turns your heart hard, bitterness and resentment will set in.

“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:  looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright.” Hebrews 12:14-16
