Seeking great gain?

Many are seeking to get rich, and they consider this great gain. The Bible says that great gain is Godliness with contentment (1 Timothy 6:6). Many are missing the mark. They are seeking to make a name for themselves. We see many talented Pastors, Bible teachers and elders that appear to be Godly, but are they Godly? Godliness is a life devoted to God. A life laid down, submitted to God out of reverence and love. Living a Godly life produces change—a change in your heart and mind.

The Bible is a book on Godliness. We are to be a doer of the Word, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves….he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” James 1:22, 25

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.” 1 Timothy 6:10-11
