The enemy wants to make you feel guilt and shame. When you start to eat what the enemy is feeding you, the natural tendency is to cover the sin, self-protect. Look at what Adam and Eve did after taking a bite of what the enemy was dishing out.

“So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.  Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.” Genesis 3:6-7

The blood of Jesus has redeemed you; you are no longer guilty and “Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.” Isaiah 61:7
