Depression and hopelessness can take you into a pit where you believe that there is no way out. There is no better way out than trusting the Lord to pull you out.

Look at what King David spoke to his soul, “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.” Psalm 43:5

David trusted God to pull him out, however, he had a part to play. David put his focus on God, trusted him and started praising the Lord. When you focus on God and start praising Him you will find your whole countenance changes.

In order to keep depression away, “take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:17.

The helmet is hope; hope protects your mind, “But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.” 1 These 5:8
