Trouble will come

Trouble will come. However, Jesus is always here to comfort us, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

To have peace, we must be “in” Christ, not succumbing to worldly things. Many years ago, a phrase was prominent in Christian circles; it was a motto to live by “What would Jesus do (WWJD).” You rarely hear this phrase today. I can only surmise this is due to declining morals in the world. The “new norm” has been redefined, and many are living a life of sin (adultery, fornication (living together), pornography, homosexual relationships, addictions, anger, hate, gossiping, envy, jealousy, resentment, etc). As a result, people do not even understand the word peace, let alone what it can do for them.

The peace that Christ gives us nothing can shake. Not coronavirus, earthquakes, tornadoes, family members not saved, children who have gone astray, broken relationships, or deaths.

“Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry;” Psalm 34:14-15
