Mindful

What is your mind full of? “…Get behind me, Satan!” he (Jesus) said . “You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” Mark 8:33

It is always a good idea to take inventory of what we are thinking upon. What is consuming the majority of your thoughts? Are your thoughts focusing on your self? A focus on self leads to an empty, fearful life. The world directs us to ourselves (Self-absorption), just walk into a book store and read the titles of books (new you, self-help, etc).

A loss can take you further down this path of self-pity, self-focus, and self-absorption. Look beyond your self (Satan’s empty Life of Fear) and to the Lord.

“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Col 3:2

“When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” Mark 8:34-36
