Who should I love?

Why should I love a person that hates me, persecutes me, and that has done terrible things to me? “We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19. Withholding love from another only hurts you. And may give you a hardened heart containing: Bitterness, resentment, anger, hate and unforgiveness. The enemy is crouching at the door, don’t let him in.

We are to love others as God loves us, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

“But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.  To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either.  Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise. Luke 6:27-31
