I have seen many quotes that say “a woman’s strength comes from what she goes through.”
I have pondered this statement over and over. I climbed the corporate ladder and many claimed I was a strong woman. I scoffed at emotions and even went to the point of saying if you embraced your emotions you were weak. My motto was to lay out a plan and execute. If you couldn’t keep pace, you were left behind.
This was far from strength. What got me to this point was I had experienced many traumas and I did not go through any of them. I pushed them aside and marched forward choosing to not look back.
When God finally got a hold of me, I couldn’t push anything else down. I was broken and I finally cried out to Him for help. It was His strength that got me through. The Lord lovingly brought to light all that had been hidden. Strength is about how you overcome.
“and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Revelation 12:11
Once we overcome through Christ, we are called to help others overcome.
“We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.” Romans 15:1
“Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!” 1 Chronicles 16:11
