What does it mean to live by Faith? Scripture says that the just live by faith (Romans 1:17).

First, let us look at the definition of Faith. “Now faith is the substance (confidence, assurance) of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

If we are not living by faith, then we are not pleasing God, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6

Even if we do not see the Lord’s promises being fulfilled at this moment, we are assured that they will be fulfilled. We have a faithful God, who does not change; this is the confidence that we “live by”.
