December 7th 1941, an attack on Pearl Harbor, Naval Base near Honolulu, HI killed 2400 Americans. Because they were not expecting an attack so close to home their defences were down.
The enemy every day is looking to see if your defences are down. He is seeking to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). If he can not get at you, he will attack your loved ones.
The lessons learned from Pearl Harbor we can put into our own arsenal.
The intelligence community knew that Pearl Harbor was vulnerable. Intelligence doesn’t matter unless you use it. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” James 1:22
Pearl Harbor was an obvious target. Just because something is unthinkable, doesn’t mean it won’t happen. “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11
Pray for those in authority that we may live a peaceable life (1 Timothy 2:2)
