Halloween

As Halloween is quickly approaching, I am being led to discuss a pagan holiday that many Christians celebrate today.

Halloween is an annual holiday celebrated each year on October 31st. It originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.

Festival of Samhain actually welcomed in “the dark half of the year.” Celebrants believe that the barriers between the physical world and the spirit world break down during Samhain, allowing more interaction between humans and the otherworld.

So you can see the dark side of this holiday. By celebrating this holiday you could be opening a door to evil forces. So you are probably saying that is foolishness.

Ask yourself these questions, is the holiday giving glory to God? Is it pure? Is it lovely or praiseworthy?

Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

Is Halloween based on godly themes? Is it in God’s will. God’s will is we bring glory and pleasure to Him. Are we doing this if we are celebrating Halloween?
