Led astray
A strange noise sounded in my house. I stopped to listen and realized that it was the pellet stove feeder. My oldest dog started barking, alarmed at the sound. My two younger dogs followed suit even thou they did not know what they were barking at. They were led astray.
Beware of being led astray. A prophetic word, false prophet, false doctrine, or even if the person is older and appears more experienced in their faith.
“Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds.” Jeremiah 14:14
God says that false prophets will lead people astray, “they have seduced My people, saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace.” Ezekiel 13:10
False prophets tell people what they want to hear. God says there is no peace for the wicked. (Isaiah 48:22, 57:21) .
God warns us of false prophets that will arise during the last days and deceive many (Mathew 24:11).
What are we to do? Do not be led astray, test the spirits
“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,” 1 John 4:1-2
