Struggling with Depression?

Struggling with Depression?

Did you know that depression is classified as an anxiety disorder, mental disorder?

Before we dive into solutions, lets look at what a disorder is. The definition of “disorder” is a state of being confused.

God is not the author of confusion, but of peace (1 Col 14:33).

When things are in order, in peace, there is structure.

Depression is a mood disorder; your moods, feelings, emotions are confused. Confusion comes from the enemy.

Mood swings occur when we let our minds wander from God’s truths. God instructs us to think on good things (Phillippians 4:8-9). He will keep you in peace when your mind is set on Him (Isaiah 26:3)

When our focus wanders off God and His Word, the enemy sees this as an opportunity to tempt you with a fleeting thought (almost always these are negative). If you take the bait and start pondering on the thoughts, your emotions will be drawn away. Who and what you believe is important (Check-out tomorrow’s devotional of who God says you are).

Solution: “The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;” Isaiah 61:3

How do you put this into action? Start praising the Lord. Heaviness will leave you immediately.

The Lord says, “…instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
Everlasting joy shall be theirs.” Isaiah 61:7. God is promising a double for your trouble and everlasting joy.

Lord, I bind all depression, heaviness, anxiety, fear and inner pain in the name of Jesus and loose garment of praise, oil of joy, peace, love and a sound mind in the name of Jesus. Lord, I ask you deliver all that are struggling with heaviness and depression. Your Words says Lord, “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He delivered them out of their distresses.” We thank you Lord and praise you for your goodness and greatness.
