The Grace of God

The grace of God

The sorrowful soul searches for death but cannot find it. I recall a poem that I meditated on day and night.

Because I could not stop for Death by Emily Dickinson, “Because I could not stop for Death, He kindly stopped for me.”

God knows the turmoil, misery and sorrow in our souls. Job in the book of Job asked a question or was it a statement of inquiry?

“Why is light given to him who is in misery, And life to the bitter of soul, Who long for death, but it does not come, And search for it more than hidden treasures;” Job 3:20-21

The answer is Grace. God knows your heart and wants to bind up the wounds, “He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3.

God wants to bring truth and give you life more abundantly (John 10:10). The enemy of our souls wants to steal, kill and destroy. “The (enemies) carriage held but just ourselves and immorality…I first surmised the horses heads were towards eternity.” (Emily Dickinson). Don’t believe the lie, don’t be deceived.

God says, “For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.” Jeremiah 31:25

Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.” Psalm 143:8
