What is worship? Let me tell you what worship is not first. Worship is not singing hymns or praying. Singing and praying can lead you into worship.

John Piper says, “True worship is valuing or treasuring of God above all things.”

What do you value most in your life? If it is not God, then you may be worship a false idol.

Derek Prince said that “Worship is a direct, intimate, personal communion with our creator.”

God desires a relationship with us.

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24

One word of caution, Satan also wants worship. “And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” Mathew 4:9-10
