“Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews gathered there, “Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him.” 5When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!” As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted, “Crucify! Crucify!” John 19:4-6
Jesus’ life glorified God. The chief priests knew about God but did not know God, nor glorify God. Envy crept in and defiled them. Envy has a sister, and her name is jealousy they work together to kill life.
So you may be asking, what is the difference between these two sisters? Envy is the emotion of coveting what someone else has, while jealousy is the emotion related to fear that something you have will be taken away by someone else.
“Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?” For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.” Mathew 27:17-18
Envy, Jealousy
What Satan meant for evil, God used for good.
“O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?
For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Cor 15:55-57
