Washing, a continuous chore. When my husband and I were first married we divided up the chores that needed to be done around the house. We were both working long hours and had very little time even to sit down.

One of my chores was doing the wash. However, I didn’t have the right tool for the job. The clothes would invariably come out of the wash with marks on them.

We can try and try to wash ourselves. We cannot accomplish the task without the Holy Spirit. We need the right tool for the job.

“not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,” Titus 3:5

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.’ 1 John 1:9
