Peace I give

The Lord says He gives peace.  It is a gift.  Have you received the gift?  We can receive a gift and then never open it.

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

How do we receive and open the gift that Christ has given us?  The first step is by believing in what Jesus did on the cross for us.

“and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.”  Col 1:20-22

The second step is to stop working.  Yes, I said stopping working.  You don’t need to work for a gift.

“The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.”  Isaiah 32:17 NKJV

We are righteous in Christ and as a result, have peace in Him.
