Victim or Victor?

Victim or Victor?

When we pray, do we pray as though we are a victor, or a victim? Jesus taught the disciples how to pray when they asked Him. They saw that He prayed with authority and He told them to pray, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)

If we pray the way Jesus taught us, then we should be expectant, when we pray with the authority Jesus has given to us; expectant that our prayers will be answered. When “…He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases, He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” (Luke 9:1,2 NKJV)

Since there are no demons, sickness or diseases in heaven, we can pray with authority for them to leave, when they are present on earth, and have full confidence that Jesus is doing the work behind our requests.

Today we still have power through Jesus’ blood and by the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. “…You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…”           Acts 1:8a  NKJV
