Words that speak from beyond the grave

It has been six years since I heard the words, “Happy Birthday Marine!”  Those were my Fathers famous words on this day, November 10th, Marine Corps Birthday.  It wasn’t about the event that struck the cord.  It was the thought he remembered.  I remember the love that speaks beyond the grave on this day.

Six years ago my father died of Lou Gehrig’s disease from serving in Vietnam (agent orange).  He served 33 years in the military.

For those of you who have lost a friend, family member that served in the military.  Jesus understands,  “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13
