What Not to Wear

If I am not mistaken, there is a reality program on television with this title. It starts with someone nominating a friend that needs a new wardrobe because they do not know how to dress appropriately. A team approaches the person with a large amount on a gift card if they agree to throw away all of their existing clothes. In the end the person accepts and has a new wardrobe, under the direction of the team that makes them look spectacular.

In scripture God tells us “what not to wear”. In Colossians 3:8-10, He not only tells us what not to wear, but He tells us what to put on, so that we can look spectacular in His sight.

“But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.”
