Getting Older
As I am getting older, and my body will wear out when God wants to take me home, I compare my body to a well worn pair of shoes. These shoes have seen many miles, but God has new territory for them to travel. God has given us earthly vessels to do His will through us. He lets us experience pain and suffering at times, to not only show His healing power, but that we may empathize and have compassion on others.
My shoes have been through many puddles and struggled up many hills, but I know that God will always put strength in my feet as the shoes march forward. I have asked Him to wash those shoes many times from mud and dust, so when I meet Him they may be worn, but they will be clean.
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” I Corinthians 15:57,58 NKJV
